Who Operates Basis
Basis is operated by Thomas Amara, an individual based in France. Basis is not currently operated through a registered company. If that changes, this section will be updated with the relevant business registration details.
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using Basis ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Description of Service
Basis is a finance education app that provides lessons, quizzes, and career preparation content. The App includes free content and a premium subscription ("Career Accelerator") that unlocks additional content.
Minimum Age
You must be at least 15 years old to use Basis. If you are under 18, you must have your parent or guardian's permission before subscribing to any paid features.
Account Registration
You may use Basis as a guest without creating an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
Career Accelerator Subscription
The Career Accelerator is a paid subscription available on a monthly (£7.99/month) or annual (£49.99/year) basis.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings.
By subscribing, you expressly request that access to the Career Accelerator's digital content begin immediately, without waiting for the 14-day withdrawal period provided under Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code to elapse. You acknowledge that, by requesting immediate access to digital content not supplied on a physical medium, you lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except where required by applicable law.
Content and Intellectual Property
All content in Basis — including lessons, questions, curriculum, illustrations, and the Bax character — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.
The educational content in Basis is for learning purposes only and does not constitute financial advice.
User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the App's content or source code
- Share your account credentials with others
- Circumvent any access controls or subscription gates
- Submit false information when creating an account
Disclaimers
Basis provides educational content only. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, or professional advice. We make no warranties that the content is complete, accurate, or current. The App is provided "as is" and "as available."
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Basis, including loss of data, profits, or career opportunities.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. On termination, your access to premium content ends immediately and no refund is provided for unused subscription periods, except where required by law.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms. Continued use of the App after we post updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of those Terms. We will notify you of material changes via the App.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by French law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of France.
General
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App and supersede any prior agreements.
